Ignacio Zapata

Ignacio Nacho Zapata of Uvalde passed away on February 5, 2009 in Life Care Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 75. He was born on July 30, 1933 in Natalia, Texas to Estevan and Maria Zapata. He married Blanca Estella Rivas in Uvalde on October 24, 1981. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Blanca Zapata of Uvalde, Texas; two daughters; Maria De Lourdes Zapata and Pilar Zapata both of Uvalde, Texas; two sisters; Ramona Ramos and Paulita Zapata both of Natalia, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; Manuel Zapata; and one sister; Juanita Lira. A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 Pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Flores, Wale Lira, Magdaleno Lira, Tony Martinez, Eddie Lara, and D.J. Gonzales.
