Isabel Castillo

Isabel Rodriguez "Chavelita" Castillo of Uvalde went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 90. Mrs. Castillo was born on November 19 1924, in Uvalde to Esteban and Nabora (Montoya) Rodriguez. Mrs. Castillo married Alejandro Castillo in 1943 in Uvalde. Mrs. Castillo is survived by her husband of 71 years, Alejandro "Role" Castillo of Uvalde; three daughters, Gloria Ortiz of San Antonio; Olivia Butman and husband Bill of Hutto; Berta Stratton and husband Ben of Houston; one son Alex Castillo of Uvalde; one brother, Ernesto Rodriguez of Chicago, Ill.; nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and special niece, Ester Rodriguez Gomez and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Berta Lopez, Florencia Trevino, Catarina Herrera, Aurelia Mansanarez and Juanita Perry; three brothers, Pablo Rodriguez, Rosalio "Chalo" Rodriguez and Cruz Rodriguez.
A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 10:00 am at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Ortiz, Duane Ortiz, William "Billy" Butman, Matthew Butman, Spencer Stratton and Stuart Stratton.
