Isabel C. "Red" Padilla of Uvalde passed away on December 19, 2017 at his residence at the age of 87. He was born on July 6, 1930 in Rosebud, Texas to Graciano Padilla and Antonia Cobos. He married Belia G. Young in Crystal City on September 15, 1952.
He is survived by his daughters, Leticia Ruiz and husband, Ray, Jr. and Melinda Estrada and husband, Robert all of Uvalde; sons, Bobby Padilla and wife, Laura Isabel "Nune" Padilla and companion, Josie Sotelo, Larry Y. Padilla and companion, Bonnie Chapa all of Uvalde and Roy Padilla and wife, Susie of Rosenberg, Texas; sister, Delia Carreon of Waco; 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brother in law, Jose Villarreal of Batesville; special niece, Alicia Villarreal and companion, Ramon DeLeon of Batesville and other numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; daughter, Oralia Padilla; grandson, Lauro Padilla and great grandson, Uvaldo Martinez, III.
Visitation will be on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
