Isabel Puente

Isabel A. Puente of Sabinal passed away on April 15, 2015 at her residence at the age of 105. She was born on August 13, 1909 in Utopia to Demetrio and Juanita (Barboza) Amaya. Mrs. Puente married Juan Puente on August 12, 1933 in Utopia. She is survived by two daughters, Alicia Robinson of St. Charles, Illinois; Maria Holmes of Sabinal; two sons, Jesus Puente and wife Frances of Uvalde; Jose Puente and wife Janice of San Antonio; one sister, Dominga Benitez of Livermore, California; one brother, Jose Amaya of Sabinal; eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Juan Puente, parents, one sister, Emma Amaya and seven brothers, Maximo Amaya, Isidro Amaya, Pablo Amaya, Juan Amaya, Demetrio Amaya Jr., Pablo Amaya and Vicente Amaya; and one great-great-grandson, William Gavin Bachara. A rosary will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 7:00 pm and Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Sabinal with burial to follow at St. Patricks Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Puente, Michael Holmes, Lawrence Gonzales, Bonifacio Gonzales Jr., Raul Gonzales and Ben Gonzales. Honorary pallbearer Juan Gonzales.
