James Aubrey Cox, Sr. of Uvalde passed away on December 22, 2011 in San Antonio at the age of 100. He was born on November 22, 1911 in Muhlenberg Co., Kentucky to Levi and Hattie House Cox. He was a Church of Christ minister for over 75 years. He is survived by two daughters, Kay Kennedy and husband, Jerry of Helotes Gaye Edwards and husband, Dave of Austin son, James Cox, Jr. and wife, Frankie of Uvalde and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and greatgreatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents his wife of 77 years, Bernice Cox daughter, Audrey Faye Leavitt two sisters grandson, Jack D. Leavitt and greatgrandson, Jackson Leavitt. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel with burial to follow in Uvalde Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dave Edwards, Travis Hendricks, Mike Kennedy, Mario Perez, Ryan Hendricks, and Michael Barrett. Memorial donations may be made to Uvalde Hospice, 124 Royal Lane, Uvalde, TX 78801.
