James Meyer of Uvalde passed away on September 19, 2011 in San Antonio at the age of 65. He was born on April 8, 1946 to Kurt Frederick and Henrietta Bierschwale Meyer in Uvalde. He graduated from Uvalde High in 1964 and owned and managed Uvalde Finance Corporation along with his wife since 1972. He married Diana Jean Black on January 25, 1969 in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, daughters Shannon Mortensen of Uvalde, Jamie Holt and husband Chris of Austin, Ashley Pullin and husband Scott of San Antonio, grandchildren Bryan Loch, Brittany Loch, Makenzie Mortensen, Brenden Holt and Weston Holt, and niece, Jennifer Holbrook McKenzie. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Thelmarie Holbrook. The family will greet guests on Friday September 23, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Rushing Estes Knowles Chapel. Memorial service will be held on September 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church.
