Janie Lopez

Janie C. Lopez of Uvalde passed away on May 8, 2021 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 78.  She was born on May 26, 1942 in Uvalde to Emeterio and Epifania Garibay Castellon.

She is survived by her daughter, Janie Lopez; sons, Arthur Thomas and wife, Ana; and Johnny J. Field and wife, Donna all of Uvalde; sisters, Lupe Castellon of Uvalde and Isabel Silva of San Antonio; brothers, Evaristo Castellon of Uvalde and Emeterio Castellon, Jr., and Cruz Ernesto Castellon of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren, Arthur Thomas II, Christina Marie Thomas, Christopher Stephen Thomas, Catherine Vivian Thomas, Johnny J. Field, Jr, Kaylea Louise Field, Abigail Marie Field, Luis Hernandez III, Peter Hernandez, and Lita Hernandez; 4 great grandchildren, Michael Arthur Thomas, Nathan Anthony Thomas, Laura Christine Thomas, and Josiah Mathew Medina Mata; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Elidio “Lee” Castellon; and great grandchild Gabriel Peter Hernandez.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be son, Arthur Thomas; nephew Andy Castellon; and grandchildren Johnny J. Field Jr., Arthur Thomas II, Christopher Stephen Thomas, Luis Hernandez III, and Peter Hernandez.
