Jeanette Gonthier Walther of Uvalde, Texas passed away on January 19, 2022 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 21,1939 to Mildred (Huegel) and Arthur Gonthier in San Luis Potosí Mexico.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Walther of Uvalde, Texas; children, Jennifer Garcia and husband, Sonny Garcia of Uvalde, Texas, Chris Walther and wife, Kimberly Walter of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Nathan Garcia, Lauren Smith and husband, Brandon Smith and Caila Walther; sisters, Annette Outlaw and husband, Elmer Outlaw of Victoria, Texas and Francine Atkinson and husband, Joe Atkinson of Spring, Texas; brothers, Arthur Gonthier and wife, Janet Gonthier of Victoria, Texas and Peter Gonthier and wife, Connie Gonthier of Hope, Michigan.
She is preceded in death by her parents and son, John Phillip Walther and nephew, John Gonthier.
Jeanette was a devout Christian and an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women organization. As a cancer survivor herself, she volunteered annually to raise money for the American Cancer Society and the Relay for Life. She was also active with the Sahawe Indian Dancers as a volunteer chaperone, concession stand worker and substitute grandma to many of the members.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Uvalde, Texas. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date.
