Jeanoyce Wilson

May 23, 1949 — May 24, 2019

Lola Jeanoyce Creech Wilson passed away unexpectedly in Round Rock, TX on May 23rd, 2019...the day before her 70th birthday.  She was a Social Worker at heart and in the end, her heart simply gave out on her. Services will be held at 10AM on Friday, May 31st at Rushing-Estes-Knowles in Uvalde, TX.  Burial will take place immediately following in Vance, TX. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held in Austin at Gateway Church North on Monday, June 3rd, 2019 at 6:00 PM.

Jeanoyce was born and raised in Uvalde, TX.  She was proudly named after her two Aunts, Jean and Joyce.  Her parents are Arthur and Jo Ann Creech. She was preceded in death by her father and baby sister, Lacey Joleen.  Her mother, Jo Ann, currently lives in Uvalde. Jeanoyce’s brother, Leonard Creech and his wife Beverly also live in Uvalde.

Jeanoyce was married to her first husband, Johnny Wilson in Uvalde and together they had one daughter, Lorry Wilson Tuttle.  Lorry currently resides in Pflugerville, TX with her husband Patrick and their daughters Hanna and Payton. Jeanoyce and Lorry made a great team...always supporting each other, traveling together, shopping together and so much more.  When Hanna and Payton arrived, Jeanoyce became known as Gran. She was the best Gran around, attending every single event that Hanna and Payton participated in including soccer games, dance recitals, sheep shows and more! She would regularly take them shopping, out to eat or just hang out together...the girls loved spending time with Gran.  Their Gran loved them more than anything and would tell everyone her girls were the highlight of her life.

Jeanoyce married Clark Lillie in 1992 in Austin, TX.  They had many great adventures together traveling all over the United States and Mexico.  Clark currently resides in Austin, TX. Jeanoyce considered Clark’s daughter, Laura Michelle Saenz, her own.  Laura currently resides in Navasota, TX with her husband Eric and their children Ariel, Dillon, Maya and Emma.

Jeanoyce is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jayce Creech, his wife Corinna and their children.  Capri Creech, her husband Brandon and their children. Other nieces include Cami, Nina, Nelly and Cindy. She had numerous cousins who she loved dearly.

Lorry always joked that she was replaced as the “favorite child” when her mom picked out Lil, her 2 pound Chihuahua whom she named after her friend Lillian.  Lil brought so much joy to her life.

Family was the most important thing to Jeanoyce, but she was also one of the hardest workers you would ever meet.  Jeanoyce was the former Manager, Long Term Care-Regulatory Policy, State assisted living and adult day care specialist (Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services). She retired with 26 years in long term care and was a Licensed Social Worker with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio. Jeanoyce was responsible for writing and revising the State’s Licensing Regulations for Assisted Living Facilities and for analyzing proposed legislation. She wrote provider letters and policies for the State regulatory agency and provided training to government administrators, attorneys, surveyors, and providers. Jeanoyce was an award-winning newspaper reporter and editor for the Uvalde Leader News prior to her employment with the State.  She conducted classes for Assisted Living Providers to help them learn the industry quickly. She will leave behind a legacy of helping to make sure the elderly were not overlooked, never forgotten and that they had the best quality of life and care available.

Jeanoyce will be missed for many reasons including her sassy and spunky attitude, her love of a great bargain, her beautiful smile, her tell it like it is advice and her ability to light up a room with her positive attitude.  She had a sign hanging in her house that read, “Do something positive every day.” That is excellent advice for us all to remember. Jeanoyce, Mom, Gran, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Friend...whatever you knew her as, she will be greatly missed.
