Jerome John Gold passed away on August 18, 2015 at the age of 84.

He was born September 22, 1930 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Guenther Theodore and Alma Gold.

He served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Coca Cola for 30 years, managing the plant as well as the bookkeeping. He served on Lion's Club and in The American Legion for many years.

Jerome had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren.

He was the most loving person to everyone he met. He enjoyed visiting with people and getting to hear their story.

Jerome is survived by brother George Gold of Bulverde. Daughter Cheryl Sloan and husband Randy of Uvalde, daughter Patty Jett and husband Mike of Knippa. Six grandchildren, Megan Thomas and husband Zane of Cuero, Shelby Sloan of Uvalde, Macy Jett of Boston, Tamara Gold of Uvalde, Jenna Sloan of Uvalde, and Jerod Gold of Uvalde as well as numerous family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jennielea Gold and daughter Barbara Gold.


Viewing will begin on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 9:00 AM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. The family will greet visitors on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 4:00-6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with burial following in Uvalde Cemetery.
