Jesus Rodriguez

Jesus B. Rodriguez of Uvalde passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. Mr. Rodriguez was born on August 6, 1930 in Villa Union, Coahuila, Mexico to Genoveva (Bermea) and Arnulfo Rodriguez. He married Elizabeth Vara on March 19, 1952. He is survived by his wife of 64 years of Uvalde, two daughters, Mary L. Cruz and husband Manuel of Uvalde and Lisa Rodriguez Cano of Uvalde; four sons, Arnulfo Rodriguez, Jesus Rodriguez and Juan Antonio Rodriguez all of Uvalde and Jose Luis Rodriguez and wife Donna of Texarkana;13 grandchildren, Tammy Angel, Tracy Byrd, Melanie Rodriguez, Jessie Rodriguez III, Joey Rodriguez, Veronica Mata, Eddie Garcia, Elizabeth Ann Torres, Raymond Cano, Arnulfo Cano, Rey Martinez, Juan Antonio Rodriguez, Naomi Montalvo, Hannah Rodriguez and Kezia Rodriguez; 29 great grandchildren and numerous, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jesus was raised in La Congregacion de Los Rodriguez in Mexico, around 1952 he moved to Leakey where he lived for a couple of years. He then move to Medina to work for Mr. Petty at the Honey Creek Ranch. In 1968 he moved to Uvalde working for several for ranches throughout the county. He broke horses most of his life. He had a big heart and would help anyone. He was always telling jokes and picking at people for fun.
Mr. Rodriguez was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Jessica Rodriguez, grandson, Arnulfo Rodriguez and brother, Emiliano Rodriguez.
A rosary will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 and Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at La IIglesia De Guadalupe in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. Interment will be in Panteon Santo Cristo in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Cano, Arnulfo Cano, Rey Martinez, Juan Antonio Rodriguez, Jesse Rodriguez III and Eddie Garcia.
