Jesus Melecio Cervantez Jr.

Jesus Melecio Cervantez Jr.  58, of Austin, Texas formerly of La Pryor, Texas passed away on January 25, 2025, at South Austin Medical Center. 

He was born on March 5, 1966, in Eagle Pass, Texas to Aurora (Cedillo) and Jesus M. Cervantez, Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Aurora Cervantez of Austin; daughter, Jessika Cervantez of La Pryor; two sons, Jesus Melecio Cervantez III of Killeen and Jericko Cervantez of La Pryor; two sisters, Reyna Ortiz of Austin and Elisa Lopez of Austin; brother, Daniel Cervantez of Austin; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his father. 

Visitation will begin on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Pryor. 

Pallbearers will be Daniel Cervantez, Jesus Melecio Cervantez III, Jessika Cervantez, Jericko Cervantez, Armando Ortiz III and Abraham Ortiz.

Honorary pallbearer is Angel Longoria.

Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
