Jesus Garcia, Sr.

Jesus Maximo Jesse Garcia, Sr. of Uvalde passed away on November 19, 2009 in Audie L Murphy V.A. Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 66. He was born in La Pryor, TX on May 16, 1943 to Jose Garcia, Sr. and Julia Martinez. He married Martha Salazar on September 28, 1968 in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife of 41 years; mother, Julia M. Garcia of Seguin, TX; two daughters, Debra Austin and husband, Jamie of League City, TX; and Brenda Carranco and husband, Jesse of San Antonio, TX; one son, Jesus Garcia, Jr. and wife, Marisa of Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX; six sisters, Helen Flores and husband Jim of Seguin; Maria Samarripa and husband, Greg of Illinois; Noemi Ruiz and husband, Arturo of Illinois; Noelia Esqueda and husband, Hector of Denver City, TX; Linda Hock and husband, Bill of Illinois; and Nina Worster and husband, David of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Jose Garcia, Jr. and wife, Mary of Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Lane Garcia; Ryan Garcia, Hannah Austin, Jewlian Garcia; Mikaela Garcia; and Levi Santana Carranco; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.Fr. Anthony Hernandez will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lane Garcia, Ryan Garcia, Roman Salazar Jr., Manuel Lozano, Juan Polanco, Billy Ray Johnston, Joe Garcia Jr., and Martin Saiz.
