Jesus Gutierrez

Jesus "Jesse" Gutierrez of Uvalde passed away on February 26, 2018 at his residence at the age of 69. He was born on December 25, 1948 in Uvalde to Sostenes and Valentina (Alamillo) Gutierrez.
He married Anita Uriegas in Uvalde on November 16, 1968. He served his country in the US Navy and was a Seabee. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He served God by his many acts of kindness to family and strangers alike.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years of Uvalde; daughters, Jenni Maldonado and husband, Ruben of Uvalde and Jessica Gutierrez of San Antonio; son, Jesse Gutierrez and wife, Raquel of San Antonio; sisters, Yolanda Ortiz of Uvalde and Pura Rios of Bryan; brothers, Ernesto Gutierrez, Sostenes Gutierrez, Jr., Mario Gutierrez, and Armando Gutierrez all of Uvalde; grandchildren, Tre Sevilla, Ashley Maldonado, Andrew Maldonado, and Ava Gutierrez; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at Rushing - Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Emilio Garza, IV, Reuben Arredondo, E.J. Uriegas, Chris Gutierrez, Rudy Ortiz, Frank Mireles, Jr., and Daniel Reyna.
Honorary pallbearers will be Los Parchez.
