Jesus Rodriguez

Jesus Rodriguez of Uvalde passed away on March 21, 2017 at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 81. He was born on December 19, 1935 in Progresso, Coahuila, Mexico to Cruz and Maria de Jesus (Castilla) Rodriguez. He married Maria de Jesus Viera on April 6, 1957 in Monclova, Mexico.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years of Uvalde; daughters, Maria del Rosario Hernandez of Uvalde, Romanita Flores of San Antonio, Silvia Rodriguez of La Pryor, Gloria Mata and Icela Gonzales, both of Odessa; sons, Jesus Rodriguez, Juan Jose Rodriguez, both of Uvalde, Santos Rodriguez of Arkansas, Enrique Rodriguez and Eduardo Rodriguez both of San Antonio; 2 sisters; 7 brothers; 33 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant children, Jesus Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Juanita Rodriguez, and Maria De Jesus Rodriguez; granddaughter, Maricuz Rodriguez and great grandson, Nehemias Cardona; 4 brothers and 1 sister.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jesus Rodriguez, Santos Rodriguez, Juan Jose Rodriguez, Enrique Rodriguez, Eduardo Rodriguez, Adrian Rodriguez and Marcos Flores.
