Jimmy L. Reavis, of Uvalde, passed away on February 28, 2023 in Uvalde at the age of 77.
He was born on November 14, 1945 to O.J. (Doc) and Agnes Highsmith Reavis.
He married Beth Henderson on October 16, 1986 in Uvalde.
He went to school in Utopia and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in animal science He worked in agricultural sales for many years and made some lifelong friends in that time. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. His greatest love, besides his family, was training calf horses and he remained involved in that for most of his life. Those who knew him could rely on his honesty and integrity which sometimes got in the way of a good horse trade.
Jimmy Reavis is survived by his wife, Beth Reavis, daughter Lexie Reavis, son and daughter-in law Zac and Denise Reavis, grandchildren Aubrey and Wes all of Uvalde. Also, a sister, Helen Jones of Huntsville, Texas, brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Kerry Sue Reavis of Floresville, mother-in-law Judy Teague of Uvalde, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Luther Jones, and fathers -in-law Jack Henderson and JH (Slim) Teague.
Graveside services are set for Friday, March 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Waresville Cemetery, Utopia, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Glenn McDonald, Tom Brewer, Bill Soyars, Rickey Hipp, Donny Yates, and Rangler Wilson.
