JoDana Reeves Ware, age 80, passed away on May 12th, 2018 at her home in Uvalde, Texas.
Jodie was born on January 17, 1938 to Norris Keathley and Felix Reeves in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from Austin High School in 1956.
Jodie married Jack Ware on December 11, 1964 in Austin, Texas. They lived many happy years on their ranch, Cometa, in Crystal City, Texas where they entertained friends, many whom they had for the rest of their lives. They moved to Uvalde in 1971 and made their home there for the next 23 years. Jodie became heavily involved in the First United Methodist Church, the restoration of the Janey Briscoe Opera House and was County Chair for the Republican National Committee. Jodie was always the person to call when you needed something done. She loved helping people with her time and resources. Jack and Jodie retired to Rockport, Texas where they spent many happy years with Jack playing golf and Jodie finding her new love in volunteering for Hospice. After Jack's death in 2008, Jodie moved to Harlingen, Texas to be near her daughter, Rebecca and her family.
Jodie loved to travel - with Jack, her mother Norris and step-father Lee Williams, her children, and later her grandchildren. Many summers were spent traveling to Hilton Head, South Carolina, Mexico and California. She and Jack traveled to Europe many times and her final big trip was to Hawaii with Rebecca, Felix and their children and spouses just last year.
Friends and family will miss the force that was Jodie Ware. Jodie loved her God, her family, and a good glass of wine. She could make people laugh and help people when they needed it most.
Jodie is survived by her children, Allen Ware of Waco, Texas, Felix Ware and wife Caris of Austin, Texas, Rebecca Taylor and husband Ashley, of Uvalde, Texas, JoAnn Ware of San Antonio, Texas and Sherry Brown and husband Robert of Dallas, Texas.
Jodie is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Jodie is preceded in death by her husband Jack and son Russell Ware.
