Joe Louis Lopez of Sabinal passed away on March 7, 2019 in San Antonio at the age of 58. He was born on June 4, 1960 in Watertown, Wisconsin to Isabel Campos (Vilo) and Lupe (Gomez) Lopez, Jr.
He married Rita Rodriguez in Sabinal on March 4, 1989.
Joe is survived by his wife of 30 years of Sabinal; son, Sergio Valdez of Sabinal; sister, Lisa Ruiz and husband, Ricky of Uvalde; brother, Armando Lopez of San Antonio; 2 grandchildren Lelianna (lela) Valdez, Phoenix Valdez and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vilo and Lupe Lopez
A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 11:00 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sabinal. Interment will follow at Sabinal Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Juarez, Sergio Valdez, Ricky Ruiz III., Joe Rene Lopez, Jose Rodriguez and Mario Muniz.
