John Ilse

John H. Ilse of Uvalde passed away on July 16, 2010 at his residence at the age of 99. He was born on October 22, 1910 in Reedville, TX to Arthur and Clara Ulbrich Ilse. He graduated from Texas AM in 1931. On Thanksgiving Day, 1934, in San Antonio, he married Virginia Ruth Browning who preceded him in death on May 8, 1992. They had two children, Barbara Ilse Fisher of Hondo and the late Michael Lee Ilse of Houston. Mr. Ilse is survived by his daughter, Barbara daughterinlaw, Beth Whitney Ilse of Houston and sisterinlaw, Willa Dee Ilse of Sabinal. His grandchildren are Mike Fisher and wife, Karen of Puyallup, WA Cathie Fisher of Houston Ami Ilse Martinez and husband, Charlie of Metairie, LA and Drew Browning Ilse of Falls Church, VA. His greatgrandchildren are Brendan and Bryce Fisher and Ethan and Eliot Martinez. He was preceded in death by his parents wife son soninlaw, Ed Fisher and siblings, Lee Ilse, Mildred Ilse Russell, Jo Ilse Van Horn, George Ilse, Edna Ilse Norman, and Gene Ilse. John was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Sabinal. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Sabinal Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Carmichael, Tom Winkle, Tommy Oliphant, Bill OConnell, Mike Fisher, Drew Ilse, Sam Ilse, Tootie Ilse, Dudley Ilse, Charlie Martinez, Mario Gonzales, Siedel Moravits, Bryson Knowles, Don Tumlinson, and Bobby Kramer.
