John Wade

John Milam Wade of Knippa passed away on March 17, 2019 in San Antonio at the age of 83.  He was born on August 12, 1935 in Waller County, Texas to Leslie Parker and Virgie Mae (Sheffield) Wade.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Forsythe Wade of Knippa; daughter, Lisa Rene McArthur and husband, Gary of Kerrville; son, John Stacy Wade of San Antonio; grandchildren, Megan McCleary and husband, Samuel, Bryan McArthur and wife, Wendy of Uvalde, Steven McArthur and wife, Mary Elizabeth of Fort Worth, Kelsey Butler and husband, Cody of Ingram, Sydney Wade, Dylan Wade; 3 great grandchildren, Deacon  McCleary, Delainey McCleary, and Isabella McArthur; sisters, Lois Marie Lemm of Spring and Faye Jenette Alford of Houston; daughter of the heart, Dusty Wilkens of San Antonio and brother in law, James Robertson of Daton, Texas.

John was the owner of Amistad Nursing Home for over 38 years and a member of the Concan Baptist Mission.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Ella Bertha Robertson; two brothers in law, Bill Alford and Manuel Forsythe; and sister in law, Sandra Forsythe.

Family visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Concan Baptist Mission.  A private interment will follow at Sabinal Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Stone, Daniel Carleton, Marshall Darby, Tim Hester, David Hawthorne, Eddie Schmidt, Richard Weaver and Bill Dillard

Honorary Pallbearers will be James Kelly M.D., Howard Hoffman, Jimmie Simons, John H. Schulze, Richard Peterson and Ghassan Abusiad M.D.
