John Woodman

John Mark Woodman Woodie of Uvalde passed away on October 17, 2010 at his residence at the age of 72. He was born on May 5, 1938 in Cambridge, MA to George and Ruth Moses Woodman. He served in the US Navy on the USS Carbonero and the USS Carp, and then in the US Army, Special Forces, 101st Airborne Division. He married Barbara Niesen in Naples, FL on September 20, 1969. He is survived by his wife of 41 years daughter, Rachel Woodman of San Francisco, CA son, Daniel Bo Woodman and wife, Rita Holmberg of Kerrville two brothers, Christopher Woodman and wife, Vivi of Coral Springs, FL and Andrew Woodman and wife, Anita of Lake Mary, FL two grandchildren, Chloe and Diego Woodman of Harlingen and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM at RushingEstesKnowles Chapel in Uvalde with burial to follow in the Sabinal Cemetery. Participants in the service will be Christopher Woodman, Archie McFadin, Eddy Carnes, and Beaumont Watkins. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the El Progreso Memorial Library, 301 W. Main St., Uvalde, TX 78801. Pallbearers will be Joe Berardi Ralph Hesse Xavier Ybarra Todd Walker Karl Katzer Whitey Hopkins Gaylon Trees and Ed Vaughan.
