Johnie Dismuke

Mrs. Johnie McDonald Dismuke of Uvalde passed away on August 19, 2008 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. She was born on September 8, 1926 in Merkel, TX to Robert and Elsie Vincent McDonald. She married Kennith Dismuke in Merkel on July 4, 1948. Mrs. Dismuke retired after 28 years of teaching. She is survived by her husband of 60 years; daughter, Debbie Horton and husband, Bob of Victoria, TX; two grandchildren, Lindi Horton of Austin; and Cody Horton and wife, Bianca of San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Towner Dismuke; and brother, Lon McDonald. Family visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2008, at 2:00 PM at the Getty St. Church of Christ. Mr. King Burney will officiate. Burial will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at 2:00 PM in Rose Hill Cemetery, Merkel, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to the Getty St. Church of Christ, 200 S.
