Jose Alvarez

Jose M. "Indio" Alvarez of Uvalde passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at his residence at the age of 64. Mr. Alvarez was born on November 16, 1951 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico to Catalina (Aguilar) and Manuel Alvarez. He married Beatriz Aguirre on February 19, 1993 in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, three sons, David Polanco and wife Cynthia of Hondo, Simon Alvarez and wife Isabel Ponce of Uvalde and Adam Alvarez and wife Lizett of Uvalde; fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and best friend Fidencio Rivera. Mr. Alvarez is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Joey Alvarez and Jaime Polanco.
A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
