Jose Borrego

Jose Luis Borrego of Sabinal passed away on March 25, 2023 at his residence at the age of 61.

He was born May 14, 1961 in Uvalde, Texas to Esperanza (Salinas) and Gilberto Borrego.

He is survived by daughter, Crystal Montez and husband, Anthony of Sabinal; sisters, Diana Silva and Francisca Ybarra both of Sabinal; Gilberto Borrego, Jr. of San Antonio and Richard Borrego of Sabinal; grandchildren, Alayah Montez, Amrhee Montez both of Sabinal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eluterio Borrego.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 4 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal.  A memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment of ashes will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
