Jose Gonzales

Jose P. Enrique Gonzales Sr. passed away on April 16, 2017 at his residence at the age of 64. Mr. Gonzales was born March 1, 1953 to Salvador and Guadalupe (Aranda Perez) Gonzales. He married Amparo M. Garza in Uvalde on November 9, 1975.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Uvalde Police Department Association and volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Gonzales is survived by his daughter, Jessica Zamora and husband, Emmanuel of Uvalde; son, Jose E. Gonzales Jr. and wife, Genesia of Uvalde; sisters, Lupe Alvarez, Sylvia G. Schaefer and Lisa Trevino all of Uvalde; brothers, Armando Gonzales, Francisco Gonzales both of Uvalde and Arnulfo Gonzales of Lubbock; grandchildren, Yadira A. Gonzales, Emmanuel "E.J." Zamora Jr., Knoah-Joe Gonzales, Isabella A. Zamora, Karlos Castillo, Kaleb Castillo and Kaitlyn Castillo as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Maria Elva Garcia; brothers, Reynaldo Gonzales and Salvador Gonzales Jr.
A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Robert Castillo, Jr., John Espinoza, Johnny Garcia, David Vela, Jr., Brian K. Ortiz, Danny Aranda and honorary pallbearer will be Domingo Pena.
