Jose Estrada

Jose M. Estrada of Uvalde passed away on April 24, 2021 at his residence at the age of 92.  He was born on April 22, 1929 in Ballinger, Texas to Marcos and Herlinda (Saucedo) Estrada.

He married Anacleta Cardona on September 11, 1949 in Hermanas, Mexico.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years of Uvalde; daughters, Herlinda Amaya and husband, Oscar, Olga Duron and husband, Juan, Zulema De Hoyos and husband, Arturo, and Eleticia Gutierrez and husband, Jose Angel all of Uvalde; sons; Gregorio Estrada and wife, Guadalupe, Francisco Estrada, Jose Estrada and wife, Lydia, and Enrique Estrada all of Uvalde; 30 grandchildren; 73 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Oscar C. Estrada; sisters, Manuela E. Hernandez, Inez E. Cedillo, and Josefina E. Valdez; brothers, Gregorio Estrada and Enrique Estrada; and great granddaughter, Krysalyn Alexis Duron.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Osvaldo Amaya, Oscar Amaya, Tomas Duron, Joseph Estrada, Eric Estrada, Victor De Hoyos, Billy De Hoyos and Marcos Estrada.
