Jose Gonzalez

Jose G. Gonzalez of Uvalde passed away in Immokalee, Florida on February 3, 2016 at the age of 91. Mr. Gonzalez was born on March 19, 1924 in Caldwell to Mercedes (Garza) and Florentino Gonzalez. He married Tomasa Rodriguez in Mexico. He is survived by daughters; Maria E. Vargas of Immokalee, Florida, Janie Alcorta and husband Luciano of Lubbock and Sylvia Mercedes Sanchez of Uvalde; six sons, Jose Gonzalez Jr. and wife Teodosa B. of Uvalde, Arnulfo Gonzalez and wife Diana of San Angelo, Fernando Gonzalez and wife Eglantina of Carrizo Springs, Federico Gonzalez and wife Herlinda of Snyder, Gonzalo Gonzalez of Snyder and Joe Gonzalez of Florida; brother Pedro Gonzalez of California; thirty grandchildren, eighty-five great grandchildren, seventeen great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Gonzalez was preceded in death by his wife Tomasa R. Gonzalez, parents, three sisters and five brothers.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 and Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
