Jose Hernandez

Jose M. Hernandez of Uvalde passed away on March 9, 2018 at his residence at the age of 91. He was born on November 5, 1926 in Calera, Zacaticas, Mexico to Domingo Hernandez and Victoriana Murillo.
He is survived by his daughters, Maria Luna and husband, Miguel and Manuela Guzman all of Uvalde; sons, Juan Antonio Hernandez and wife, Ercilia of San Antonio, Marcelino Hernandez and David Hernandez and wife, Araceli all of Uvalde; sisters, Andrea Hernandez Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico and Berta Luna of Nava, Coahuila, Mexico; brother, Julian Luna of Nava, Coahuila, Mexico; 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Herlinda Montovia Hernandez; parents; daughter, Maria de luz Hernandez; sons, Jose Luis Hernandez and Jose Luis Hernandez; and grandson, David Hernandez, Jr.
A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Miguel Luna, Jr., Manuel Luna, Mark Luna, Alonso Garcia, Jr., John Robert Garcia, Chris Mendoza, Juan Hernandez and David "Tres" Hernandez.
