Jose Garcia

Jose M. Garcia of Uvalde passed away on January 5, 2015 in Austin at the age of 87. He was born in Del Valle, Texas on February 17, 1927 to Jose R. and Crecencia (Martinez) Garcia. He married Maria B. Guevara on March 23, 1948 in Sabinal. He is survived by daughters, Janie Sosa and husband Eddie and Carmen Garcia both of Austin; seven sons, Ricardo Garcia of Uvalde; Jesus Garcia and wife Ofelia of Hondo; Frank Garcia and wife Olga of Crystal Lake, Illinois; Mike Garcia and wife Mary Esther of Uvalde; Jose Garcia and wife Kim of Garden City, Kansas; Ruben Garcia and wife Cynthia of Uvalde; Oscar Garcia and wife Lizabel of Uvalde; twenty-two grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Maria Garcia, parents, sister Felicita Garcia. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 06, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Vigil service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hector Javiel Sosa, Joshua Saldivar, Mikey Garcia, Carlos Garcia, Jacob Garcia and Joey Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are Jesse Garcia, Jr. Ruben Garcia, Jr. Hector Eduardo Sosa, Frank Garcia, Jr. Gabriel Garcia, Javier Garcia, Jon Garcia and Jason Garcia.
