Jose Ibarra

Jose Maria Ibarra of Uvalde passed away on June 30, 2020 in Uvalde at the age of 80. He was born on November 2, 1939 in Mexico to Donaciano Ibarra and Juanita Gonzalez.

He married Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez in Mexico on October 2, 1957. He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, where he was part of the Cursillo Group and Evangelization Group.

He is survived by his wife of Uvalde of 63 years; daughter, Rosario Olvedo and husband, Joe of Uvalde; sons, Jose M. Ibarra, Jr. and wife, Rochelle of Lakeville, Minnesota, Juan F. Ibarra and wife, Sylvia of Uvalde, Fernando Ibarra and wife, Alice  of Sonora, Miguel Ibarra and wife, Diana of San Angelo, Jesus Ibarra and wife, Jessenia of San Antonio, Ricardo Ibarra and wife, Guadalupe of Eagle Pass, Jorge Ibarra and wife, Mary of Sinton and Emanuel Ibarra and wife, Agatha of Uvalde; brothers, Agapito Ibarra of California and Donaciano Ibarra, Jr. of San Francisco, California; 37 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jesus Carmelo Ibarra and Jose Guadalupe Ibarra; sister, Leonor Alvarez and grandson, Juan Ibarra, Jr.

A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Julian Ibarra, Jacob Ibarra, Jose Olvedo, Jr., Adam Olvedo, Daniel Ibarra, A.J. Ibarra, Javier Ibarra, and Jorge Ibarra, Jr.
