Miraculously, all four brothers returned safely from the war. After the war, Paco worked for the CPL Ice Plant on Nopal and Grove and then the Office Supply located along the town plaza, repairing office equipment for area business offices, schools and municipalities until his retirement in the mid 1980s. He enjoyed animals and the outdoors, but most of all, he loved his family. He is remembered as a giving person, never turning away anyone that was in need of shelter or food even though there was little to eat. There was never a moment when there wasnt laughter and celebration at his home. His home became the central gathering place for family, friends and neighbors. During the Uvalde Centennial celebration, he won the longest beard contest.
