Jose B. "Joe" Pargas Jr. 46, of La Pryor, TX. passed away April 5, 2017 at Christus Sister Mary Hospice Center in San Antonio. Joe was born on January 6, 1971 in Carrizo Springs to Rosa (Castillo) and Jose B. Pargas Sr.
He was a Volunteer Fireman with La Pryor Fire Department, EMT and a Boy Scout Troop Volunteer.
Joe is survived by his parents of La Pryor, Rosa (Castillo) and Jose B. Pargas of La Pryor; his lifetime partner, Rita Ochoa of La Pryor, daughter Patricia Nicole Pargas of Wichita, Kansas; three sons, PFC. Joshua Taylor Pargas and wife, Brenda of El Paso; Jose Bermea Pargas III, and Julian Ray Pargas both of La Pryor; two sisters, Raquel Pargas Arroyos and husband, Eduardo of Uvalde and Rosanna Pargas of La Pryor; two brothers, Joaquin Pargas and Jacob Pargas of La Pryor; granddaughters Emily Pargas and Emily Aguilar; step-children, Becky Lopez of Crystal City, Rose Lopez Ramirez of Crystal City, Jose Lopez of Deansville, Joanna Rodriguez of La Pryor, Pedro Rodriguez of Crystal City, and Jaime Lopez of Crystal City; and twenty-two step-grandchildren all of Crystal City.
Joe was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Antonia and Francisco Castillo and paternal grandparents, Leocardia and Ramon Pargas.
A prayer service will be held on Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9, at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Funeral service will be Monday, April 10, 2017 at 10:00 am at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with interment to follow at La Pryor Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joaquin Pargas, Jacob Pargas, PFC. Joshua Taylor Pargas, Jose B. Pargas III, Pedro Rodriguez III, Edward Cruz, Kevin McClanahan and Jose Lopez. Honorary pallbearers are Julian Ray Pargas, Zanthony Rodriguez, Jericko Cervantez and Patrick Ramirez
