Jose Perez

Jose Angel Perez who many knew as "La Chueca", of Uvalde passed away on January 17, 2017 at his residence at the age of 83. He was born on April 23, 1933 in Uvalde to Benito and Leonarda Perez.
He married Elva Torralva on April 19, 1960 in Crystal City.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years of Uvalde; daughters, Joann Flores and husband, Roy, Debbie Rangel and husband, Robert and Lena De La Cerda and husband, Edward all of Uvalde; brothers, Ben Perez, Jr. of Boerne, Rogelio Perez of Austin, Ricardo Perez and Johnny Perez both of Uvalde; grandchildren, Roy Flores Jr., Jysenia De La Cerda Garcia, Roberto Rangel, Jr., Rebekah Garza, Jared P. Flores and Rennae Rangel; 15 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jared Flores, Roy Flores, Jr., Baldo Castillo, Jaime Martinez, Robert Rangel, Jr., Felix Garza, Jr., Willie Garcia, III and Jesse Esparza, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Ozuna, Armando Cardona, Antonio Vela, Lupe Garcia, Arnoldo Arrellano and Oscar Felan.
