Jose Gonzalez

Jose Refugio Gonzalez of Uvalde passed away on September 20, 2016 at his residence at the age of 94. He was born on July 4, 1922 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Porfirio and Maria De Socorro (Saenz) Gonzalez.
He is survived by his daughters, Irma G. Perez of Uvalde, Ana Julia Gonzalez of Carson, Nevada, Roxana Soto of San Antonio, Sylvia Corpus and Norma Flores both of Uvalde; sons, Pedro Gonzalez of San Antonio, Gonzalo Gonzalez of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ismael Guerrero of Eagle Pass and Jose Gonzalez of Mission; brother, Porfirio Gonzales, Jr. of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez; sons, Porfirio Gonzalez and Juan Hernandez; daughter, Dora Elia Hernandez and two brothers.
A prayer service will be held on Thursday and Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.
