Jose Gonzales

Jose Valente Gonzales of Uvalde passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 74. Mr. Gonzales was born on December 22, 1941 in Uvalde to Maximiliano and Manuela (Minor) Gonzales. Mr. Gonzales married Minerva Hernandez on April 18, 1987 in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Minerva H. Gonzales of Uvalde; four daughters, Norma De La Garza and husband Edward of Uvalde; Rachel Alvarado Aguero of Sonora; Nancy Salas and husband Tony of Von Ormy and Frances Gonzales of Uvalde; two sons, Joe Gonzales and companion Grace of Eagle Pass and Jorge Gonzales and wife Mary of Kerrville; sister, Delia Silva and husband Tom of Uvalde; two brothers, Arnulfo Gonzales and wife Opy of Knippa and Maximiliano "Max" Gonzales and wife Rosalinda of Uvalde; sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Gonzales is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Cristoval Gonzales.
A rosary will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 and Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
