Jose Villarreal, Sr.

Jose R. Villarreal, Sr. of Batesville passed away on January 30, 2019 at Pearsall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 83. He was born on January 26, 1936 in Batesville, Texas to Jesus and Maria (Rios) Villarreal.
Jose married Juanita Padilla Villarreal in Crystal City, on 1955.
He is survived by his children, Richard Villarreal and wife, Petra of Batesville, Mikie Villarreal of Minnesota, Jose "Pin" Villarreal, Jr. and wife, Yolanda, Hector Villarreal and wife, Mercedes, Eloisa Garza, Dora Elia Delgado, Beatrice "Guera" Villarreal, Oralia "Lally" Villarreal and husband, Jesse Martinez all of Batesville, Elvira "Beedee" Luna and husband, Gilberto of Andrews, Texas, Diana Rios and Joey Daniel Rios Villarreal both of Batesville; sister, Margarita Saldana of Batesville; daughter in law, Tina Villarreal of Batesville; 22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sons, Luis Villarreal and Eleazar Villarreal; daughter, Elvira Villarreal; brothers, Jesus Villarreal Jr. and Jorge Villarreal; sisters, Maria Martinez, Petra Saldana, Teresa Saldana and Roberta Garza.
A rosary will be held on Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Batesville. Interment will follow at Batesville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard Villarreal, Jr., David Villarreal, Hector Villarreal, Jr. , Joey Villarreal, Felix Garza, III, Jasper Luna, Michael Villarreal, and Jeremy Lopez. Honorary pallbearers will be , Luis Villarreal, Jr., Joe Villarreal, Ervey Villarreal, Enrique Delgado, Ivan Martinez, Eleazar Luna, Austin Luna, Leo De Leon, Nune Padilla, Michael Ramos, Rolando Saldana, and Robert Saldana.
