Josefa Garcia

Josefa Longoria Garcia of Uvalde passed away on May 17, 2009 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 104. She was born on March 25, 1905 in Zaragosa, Coahuila, Mexico to Inocente and Pomposa Longoria. She is survived by two sons, Matias L. Garcia and Gonzalo L. Garcia and wife, Mary all of Uvalde; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Graciano Garcia; son, Jesus Garcia; and daughter, Hortencia Chavarria. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Cremation was under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to El Progreso Memorial Library, 301 W. Main St., Uvalde, TX 78801.
