Josefa Lira

Josefa Aguinaga Lira of Uvalde passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 97.

Visitation for Josefa will start on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde, Texas. Interment will follow to Hillcrest Cemetery.

Josefa is survived by her daughters, Lupe Mata of Uvalde, and Diana Graham and spouse Peter of San Antonio; sons, Marcelino Lira, Jr., of Uvalde, Ernesto Lira and spouse Brenda of San Antonio, and Juan Carlos Lira and spouse Alma of San Antonio; Twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Josefa is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and granddaughter Esmeralda Mata; numerous nieces and nephews.
