Joseph Hans

Joseph Jackson Hans of Uvalde passed away on June 19, 2016 at his residence at the age of 91. He was born on June 25, 1924 in Utopia, Texas to Joseph and Etta (Stapleton) Hans. He married Mary English in San Antonio on April 20, 1975. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Hans, of Uvalde; 2 daughters, Louetta Shackelford and husband George of Goldsmith and Beckie Brown of Kerrville; one son, Roger Berry and wife Sharon of Uvalde; three granddaughters, Jody McElroy and husband Tres, Jennie Mills and husband Len and Kathy Brown; two grandsons, Cody Shackelford and wife Teresa and William Berry; six great grandsons,; two great granddaughters; and sister, Martha Jane Michael and husband Carl of Bandera and numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Utopia Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Vanderpool Cemetery.
