Joyce Klaus

Joyce Ann Klaus passed away on May 13, 2008 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 75. She was born on October 16, 1932 in Dewitt County, Texas to George and Augusta Gohmert. She married Erwin Klaus on June 1, 1950 in Cuero, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Erwin Klaus of Knippa, Texas; two sons; Alan Klaus and wife, Nancy; and Gary Klaus all of Knippa, Texas; four grandchildren; Kaeli Klaus Brown and husband, Rusty of San Antonio, Texas; Kolby Klaus of San Antonio, Texas; Justin Klaus of Tyler, Texas; and Pam Custer Woods and husband, Chip of Alice, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; Preston and Newton Gohmert; two sisters; Alice Gohmert and Captola Wilson. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Knippa, Texas with burial to follow in Knippa Cemetery. Pastor Daryl Knox will officiate. Pallbearers will be Rodney Haby, George Gohmert; Ricky Gohmert, Don Gohmert, Victor John Niemeyer, and Billy Word. Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene Patalik; Charles Gohmert; Mike Gohmert; Mike Byrne; Dennis Pakebusch; Carl Muecke; Bobby Kramer; and W.A. Hensarling Jr.. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
