Juan Enrique Arizmendi Jr. formerly of Uvalde passed away on March 18, 2015 in Fort Collins, Colorado at the age of 46. Mr. Arizmendi was born on June 12, 1968 in Uvalde to Juan and Elsa (Aguilera) Arizmendi. He is survived by his mother, Elsa Arizmendi Rodriguez and husband Antonio of Uvalde; father, Juan Enrique Arizmendi of Uvalde; daughter, Gabriela Arizmendi of Fort Collins, Colorado; sister, Katherine Arizmendi of Washington, D.C.; brother, Joe Mark Arizmendi and wife Brenda of Uvalde; step-sisters, Nara Mata of McAllen and Maria Guerra and husband Billy of Edinburg; step-brother, Juan Rodriguez and wife Petra of Mission; three grandchildren, Sharaina Chavez, Sierra Chavez and Robert Chavez; niece, Eden Martinez; nephews, Mark Arizmendi, John Henry Arizmendi, Gavin Arizmendi, Aidan Velasquez and Ian Martinez; aunts, Anabelia AlHakam and husband John, Teresa Salas and husband Henry, Rosalva Gutierrez, Carmen Garner and husband Stuart, Lily Gonzales and husband Hector, Patsy Calderon and husband Jose; Mary Calderon and husband Nick; great aunt, Antonia Aguilera and special friend, Rosemary VanGorder. Mr. Arizmendi was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Jose and Teresa Aguilera and paternal grandparents, Enrique and Ester Arizmendi.
A rosary will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, and a Vigil will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with burial to follow at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Juan Arizmendi, Sr., Brian Garner, Ernest Gutierrez, Jr., Daniel Gutierrez, Jose Luis Gutierrez, Javier Valdez, Mike Salinas and Edward Cruz.
