Juan Uriegas

Juan C. Uriegas of Uvalde passed away on December 17, 2014 at Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde at the age of 83. He was born on March 3, 1931 in Uvalde to Refugio and Maximina Cepeda Uriegas. He married Esther Gasca on September 15, 1957 in Brownsville. He is survived by his wife of 57 years of Uvalde daughters, Teresa Lugo and husband Jorge of Uvalde, Lourdes Acosta and husband Mike of San Antonio and Monica Lara and husband Richard of Uvalde sons, Alfredo Uriegas of San Antonio and Augustin Uriegas of Uvalde sisters, Eliza Morales and refugia Talavera both of Uvalde brother, Rodolfo Uriegas grandchildren Chelsie Lee Uriegas, Zacary Uriegas, Agustin Uriegas Jr., Juan Esteban Uriegas, Elisa Lara, Sofia Lara, Lourdes A. Lara and Diego J. Lara great grandson, Ethan Porras and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roberto Uriegas. A rosary will be held on Thursday and a vigil on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Uvalde Cemetery.
