Juan Castanon

Juan G. Castanon of Uvalde passed away on April 30, 2013 at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 80. He was born on January 27, 1933 in Esperanzas, Coahuila, Mexico to Justo and Herminia Guzman Castanon. He married Minerva Fernandez in Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico on June 8, 1958. He is survived by his wife of 54 years daughters, Mayela Castanon and husband Jaime Garcia Mary Hernandez and husband Tony all of Uvalde Ana Placencia and husband Larry of Temple and Isabel White and husband Chris of San Antonio grandchildren, Jaime C. Garcia and wife Jennifer Mouser Jacob C. Garcia, Mandy Hernandez, Nataly Hernandez, Josh Vasquez, Melany Vasquez, Emily Vasquez, Jason White, Logan White, Ariana Placencia, Alejandro Placencia and Aracely Placencia and great grandchildren, Olivia Garcia and Charlotte Garcia. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. A rosary will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p. m. at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
