Juan Gomez

Juan R. Johnny Gomez of Sabinal passed away on December 24, 2008 in Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 81. He was born on February 19, 1927 in Sabinal, Texas to Jesus and Petra Gomez. He married Maria Vasquez on May 23, 1953 in Sabinal, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Maria Gomez of Sabinal, Texas; four daughters; Patsy Gomez and husband, Tony Alejandro; Martha Gonzales; Rebecca Borrego and husband, Meliton Jr.; and Rosalinda Jacques and husband, Ruben all of Sabinal, Texas; twenty grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; five sisters; and one daughter. A rosary will be held on Friday at 7:00 Pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel in Sabinal. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 2:00 PM at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Sabinal, Texas with burial to follow in St. Patricks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lutie and Gerry Borrego, Balta and Benito Diaz, Roman Garza, Joey Ramirez, Roy Alaniz, Richard Gonzales, Tony and Andrew Alejandro, Ryan Jacques, Meliton Borrego III, Andrea and Savanna Gonzales, John Borrego, and Adan Alejandro.
