Juan Ortiz

Juan P. Ortiz, Sr. of Knippa passed away on July 4, 2009 in San Antonio at the age of 77. He was born on February 8, 1932 in Cuidad Acuna, Mexico to Carlos and Jesusita Pina Ortiz. He married Olga Galvan in Cuidad Acuna, Mexico in 1951. She preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Juan Ortiz and wife, Juana; Maria Guerrero and husband, Juan; Jose Ortiz and wife, Sonia; Manuel Ortiz and wife, Alejandra; Fernando Ortiz and wife, Janie, all of Knippa; and Olga Gutierrez and husband, Raymond of Del Rio; two sisters, Maria Ortiz de Hernandez and Marcela Ortiz de Hernandez, both of Cuidad Acuna, Mexico; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 6 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Bernal and Isidro Ortiz; and one sister, Maria de los Angeles Ortiz. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 9:30 AM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel with burial to follow in the Knippa Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marco Antonio Ortiz; Luis Ortiz; Jaime Ortiz; Jaime Gracia; Victor Ortiz; and Pete Guerrero.
