Juan Francisco Salazar of Uvalde passed away on January 3, 2017 at North East Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 56.
He was born on August 25, 1960 in Libertyville, Illinois to Vicente and Consuelo (Valle) Salazar.
He enjoyed barbecuing, fishing and the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his mother of Uvalde; daughter, April Salazar and husband, Luis Enrique Robles III of Gainesville; sons, Rocky Salazar and wife, Allyson, Juan Francisco "JJ" Salazar, Elijah Salazar, all of Gainesville and Juan Carlos "Johnny" Jimenez and partner, Nicole Perez of Uvalde; sisters, Irma Velos and husband, Raymond and Blanca Martinez and husband Ezequiel, both of Uvalde; brothers, Vincent Salazar Jr. and wife Alma and Abel Salazar both of Uvalde; grandchildren, Reyna Isabel Salazar, Rocky Renee Salazar, Felicity Summer Salazar, Julyssa Monique Retana, Alyssa Rufina Salazar, Maximillian Alexander Salazar, Bella Sophia Salazar, Izaiah Daniel Cardenas, Enzo Solomon Salazar, Gisel M. Salazar, Mia K. Salazar, Ariel L. Salazar, Anthony Salazar, Noah C. Salazar, Daniel R. Salazar, Luis E. Robles, Jr., Luciano M. Robles, Gianna B. Robles, and Juan Carlos Jimenez, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and granddaughter, Rebecca Mercedes Salazar.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rocky Salazar, Elijah Salazar, Vincent Salazar, Erasmo Castillo, Jr., Bebe Reyna Lopez, and Juan Carlos Jimenez. Honorary pallbearers will be Vinny Salazar and Carlos Salazar
