Juan Antonio Rayas

Juan Antonio Ibarra Rayas of Uvalde passed away on January 15, 2022, at Pam Health Specialty Hospital of San Antonio Texas, at the age of 83. He was born on November 24,1938 in Muzquiz Coahuila, Mexico to Antonio Ibarra and Regina Rayas.

He is survived by his son, Juan Roberto Ibarra and wife Liliana of San Antonio, daughters, Leticia Ibarra of Uvalde, Texas and Teresita and husband Jose Escobedo of Breckenridge, Texas step son, Javier Arispe of Campwood, Texas; step-daughter, Christal Rodriguez of Rocksprings Texas, Mary Jimenez of Lubbock Texas and Raquel Arispe of San Antonio, Texas; Grandchildren, Juan R. Ibarra Jr., Liliana A. Ibarra, Sergio Sanchez and Destiny Jimenez, Yesenia and husband Reynaldo Ramos Jr., Jessica and husband Jose Rodriguez, Perla and husband Luis Torres, Jose Escobedo and companion Charity Morgan, Eliza Escobedo and companion Chance Benton, Lizbeth Escobedo and companion Jackson Woodward, Benny Escobedo; Andrew Gonzalez, Armando Gonzalez, Julia Sanchez, Carmela Sanchez, Fernando Jimenez, Kloey Magdalena Arispe, and Giovani Arispe; great grandchildren, Reynaldo Ramos III, Destiny Zelena Ramos, Theodore Rodriguez, Matthew Rodriguez, Luis Torres, Mia Torres, Gavin Torres, and Max Antonio Woodward; and great-great grandchildren, Kellin Garza, Navari Escobar, and Arianna Sky Roberts.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Teresa Cruz Ibarra, his second wife, Alicia Rodriguez Ibarra; grandson, Jesus Antonio Ibarra; step-daughter, Natasha Rodriguez; 3 sisters; and 5 brothers.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  Interment will follow at Rocksprings Cemetery in Rocksprings, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Juan Roberto Ibarra, Juan Roberto Ibarra Jr., Sergio Sanchez Jr., Javier Arispe, Jose Escobedo Jr., and Benny Escobedo.
