Juanita Gonzales

Juanita Puentes Gonzales of Sabinal passed away on July 25, 2020 at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 82.  She was born on February 8, 1938 in Sabinal, Texas to Bernardo Martinez and Jesusita Valdez.

She is survived by her husband, Francisco Gonzales of Gilroy, California; daughters, Yolanda Muniz of Los Baños, California, Elba Aviles and husband, Juan of Sabinal, Sylvia Salinas and husband, Canuto of San Antonio, Rosalinda Puentes and husband, Arnulfo Peña of Sabinal, Frances Haro and husband, Ralph of Gilroy, California, and Sandra Gonzales of Sacramento, California; sons, Roberto Puentes and wife, Melissa of Hondo, Jerry Gonzales of Sacramento, California, Gilbert Gonzales of Sabinal, Omar Gonzales of Los Baños, California, Nicky Gonzales of Sacramento, California; sisters, Ramona Campos of Minnesota and Rosalinda Herrera of Austin; Petra Garza of Grandview Washington; Epifania Garcia of Eagle River, Wisconsin; brothers, Manuel Torres of Bryan and Ricky Torres of Sabinal; 32 grandchildren, 52 great granchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Pablo Puentes; parents, Bernardo Martinez and Jesusita Valdez; step-father Cruz Torres; brothers, Gilberto Martinez and Reynaldo Torres; sister, Florentina Perez; sons, Johnny Joe Puentes, Pablo Puentes, Jr., and Jesse Gonzales; son-in-law, Rudy Muniz and daughter-in-law, Juanita Gonzales.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sabinal. Interment will follow at Sabinal Catholic Cemetery.
