Juanita Melendrez

Juanita R. Melendrez of La Pryor passed on April 6, 2014 at the age of 99. She was born March 3, 1915 in Eagle Pass to Felipe and Isidra Ortegon Ruiz. She is survived by her daughters Guadalupe Vera and husband Santos, Olga Melendrez and Carolina Mata all of La Pryor, Maria Elena Luna and Dora Salazar both of San Antonio, sons Ernesto Melendrez and wife Linda of Delta, Ohio Florencio Melendrez, Jr. and wife Savina and Martin Melendrez and wife Lisa both of La Pryor, thirtyfive grandchildren, ninetyone great grandchildren, one hundred and nine greatgreat grandchildren and one greatgreatgreat grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Florencio Melendrez, Sr., sister Maria Perez, son Arnulfo Melendrez, daughter Carolina Melendrez, brother Felipe Ruiz, Jr.,4 grandchildren and 3 greatgreatgrandchildren. A rosary will be held on Tuesday and a vigil on Wednesday at 7:00 pm at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Josephs Catholic Church in La Pryor. Burial will be held at La Pryor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Florencio Melendrez, Ernesto Melendrez, Ernesto Melendrez Jr., Martin Melendrez, Lloyd Jacquez, Chris Rodriquez, Prisciliano Mata and Santos Vera Jr.
