Judith Mahavier

Judith Nell Hunter Mahavier of Uvalde passed away on July 5, 2009 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 69. She was born on September 21, 1939 in Violet, TX to Joe Roy and Louise Gerigk Hunter. She is survived by three daughters, Rhonda Kennedy and husband, Steve of Uvalde; Dana McCutchen and husband, Daren of San Antonio; and Jo Beth Moffett of Uvalde; brother, Bruce Hunter of La Pryor; five grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patsy McCasland; and brother, Gary Hunter. Mrs. Mahavier was a licensed cosmetologist in Uvalde for 25 years. She was the head cook for the 4-H camp for many years. According to her daughters, she was an excellent seamstress and interior decorator. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 10:00 AM in Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Robert Richarz will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to the Regional Cancer Care Center, 1025 Garner Field Road, Uvalde, TX 78801.
